Baptisms
A Gift of Grace
“For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.”
—Galatians 3:27
At Good Shepherd, we believe baptism is a gift of God’s grace—freely given and open to all, from the youngest to the oldest. It is a sacred sign of God’s presence and promise, lived out within the community of faith. Because baptism joins us to Christ and to one another, it is not a private act but a celebration within a worshiping community.
Baptism is not just for the individual; it is a calling for the entire congregation. Those who are baptized—or parents presenting their child for baptism—are asked to make a commitment: Will you live among God’s faithful people? This commitment reflects our shared responsibility to support one another in faith and to remain actively connected to the life of the church.
Baptism Sundays
We celebrate baptisms during Sunday worship at 8:30am and 10:30am from September through May, and at 9:30am during the summer months. Parents of newborns and others considering baptism are encouraged to contact one of our pastors to learn more and begin planning this joyful milestone. Come and be welcomed into the body of Christ through the grace-filled waters of baptism.
The Good Shepherd Baptismal Font
Our baptismal font is located near the front of the Sanctuary beside the organ, beautifully framed by stained glass artwork—a visible reminder of the sacredness of baptism and the beauty of God’s promises.
