High School Youth
Wednesday Nights: Weekly Youth Group
Youth Group meets every Wednesday evening from 6:00–8:00 p.m. throughout the year (excluding holidays). Each night kicks off in the Youth Room with time for informal conversation and connection, followed by group activities.
Mission Trips: Faith in Action
Each summer, youth have the opportunity to participate in a weeklong mission trip. These experiences—organized through YouthWorks, a Christ-centered service ministry—immerse students in hands-on service, worship, and relationship-building.
Mission sites change each year, with past trips including service in Chicago, IL; Lame Deer, MT; Kokomo, IN; and Cincinnati, OH. These trips are often transformational—helping youth grow closer to God, to each other, and to the communities they serve.
ELCA Youth Gathering
Every three years, students are invited to attend the ELCA National Youth Gathering, a once-in-a-lifetime experience where over 30,000 Lutheran teens come together for worship, learning, and service. It’s an unforgettable way to deepen faith and discover the power of being part of a global church family.
Church Support: A Vital Foundation
The mission and ministry of our youth would not be possible without the generous support of the Good Shepherd congregation. Through prayers, encouragement, and financial contributions, our church family plays a vital role in every faith-filled journey our students take.
We are especially grateful for your support of our newest fundraiser through Great Lakes Scrip—thank you for helping us grow the next generation of faith-filled leaders.
